I don't have "doctor money" to get pills I've taken for 9 years. Are the online pharmacies legit?

The medication is clonazepam 1.0 mg. I can get it at the drug store with a current prescription for about $12. The problem is, my prescription is expired; I've moved; don't have money to go to a new doctor. My old doctor will not renew without seeing me--I have no way to get to her, 100 miles away.

The only way to get prescription medication is if you have a prescription. No doctor will give a prescription out without first giving you an exam. It is illegal to give a script out without one.
Reply:Online pharmacies CAN prescribe it. They provide a prescription by first giving you a "consultation" with an online doctor by phone or email. It is basically a loophole.

It will be MUCH more expensive than seeing a doc directly.

Here's what you might try:

Since it is habbit forming, you basically NEED to have your medication even to wean yourself off of it. You cannot stop clonazepam abruptly.

If you're getting it for $12 you must have insurance?

Try finding a cheap doc in the phone book that takes credit cards or your insurance.

OR

If you are absolutely desperate, go to the emergency room of a hospital that takes indegants (no insurance) and explain your situation. You might have a hard time getting a doc to give you this if he perceives you to be "dependant" on it. He may want to wean you off of it and maybe on to something else.
Reply:you would still have to have a prescription of online pharmacies, and besides why would you want to order a med online. it wouldn't be safe.
Reply:The particular medication you are wanting is a controlled substance and on-line pharmacies may or may not be able to fill the Rx with a valid, original copy Rx. Consider looking to see if there is a free clinic or clinic for disadvantaged individuals in your community - even so, there is no guarentee a new medical provider will agree with your prior physician's use of the medication. Many providers do not agree with using Benzodiazapiens (the class of medication you mention) on a chronic basis.

100 miles isn't horrible, perhaps you can take a bus or a train or find a friend to drive you to your old doctor - but then you would still need to pay for an office visit.

You might try over-the-counter Valerian. It is used as an anti-anxiety medication. Be aware that there are some risks of liver problems with this medication but I see it is still available over the counter. Good luck.
Reply:before you buy any medication online, go to ripoffreport.com and enter the name of the company. so many of the medication sites are not legitimate; they will charge your credit card each month, but never send the medication! some companies form canada will charge an enormous amount for a "surcharge" or "duty free tax." good luck!
