Online fraud. Have you been done? And did your bank put back the money into your account?

I've been done twice now.

And I'm careful with my details. So it is a surprise.

I'm not talking about a credit card, I'm talking about your ATM card.

How long can I expect to wait for my money back?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I lost £300 on a Lloyds Debit card. It was various £15 to £40 transactions at Tesco's. I was refunded the money very quickly by Lloyds.
Reply:only pay on websites where a little gold padlock appears at the bottom of your screen, these are safe sites and have been security approved
Reply:Iv been done a few months ago i set up my boyfriends car insurance online then he set up payment from his bank they didnt take any notice and they they defaulted him and took £60 of my card and wouldnt pay it back this was fraud but my bank would not get involved as it was classed as a point of sale over the phone i will never get that money back now so dont hold your breath from your bank
Reply:In terms of questioning how long it will be before you get your money back, surely it's best and more wise to go ask your bank / building society.

However, in terms of security online; I'd recommend you don't use Internet Explorer as a starting point - it's probably the LEAST SECURE browser ever.

Opera supports Secure Socket Layer versions 2 and 3, and TLS, offers automatic 256-bit encryption - the highest available security of any Web browser - and now comes with Fraud Protection. Check out the link in the sources.
