How can a 14 year old make money?

Well, I'm 13, going to be 14 in about a week. I want to know how I can just start collecting money over time and I'm not talking about jobs like babysitting or raking lawns. I do chores, but I don't get an allowance. I want something I can do like after school and on my spare time. I don't mean actual jobs, but just like some things I could do if I get bored. Currently I just turn in bottle caps online, pick up any loose change I find on the ground, and sweepstakes I'm able to do. Please don't mention filling out surveys because I tried that and I got a lot of spam mail that I can't get rid of..And please don't mention paper routes as I have no idea how to do those, and I don't particularly want to. Thanks in advance.

Reply:Other than manual labor, like mowing lawns, raking leaves, or shoveling snow, I can think of recycling aluminum (60 cents a pound in my area) and turning in glass/plastic bottles for the deposit.

You'd need a work permit to work at McDonald's etc. At your age and skill level there's not much.

You could make craft items and sell them.
Reply:go on ebay
Reply:My 14 yr old works with me, and probably knows more about real estate than most agents/brokers! Because we work in bank repos he has learned to do a ton of great odd jobs to make money. We never dreamed washing windows would make money, but hey, homeowners hate washing their windows and so do small stores and fast food places. Once my son started doing windows we started noticing adults that do it for a living! If you are smart tutoring younger kids is better than babysitting and you can charge more! Even washing neighbors cars is a good one!
Reply:Try finding a place close to your house, in walking distance ( or bike ) that you can just help out at. I would try a plant nursery or something. At a plant nursery people will hire you to go around and water plants, pick off dead flower heads, etc. You can even do some community service... that always looks good on a resume, but you don't usually get paid for it. Good luck and hope I helped!
