Ways to save money?
If you have a spare room, rent it out and save that money.Switch off all lights and electrical equipment you are not using, buy only what you really need(not what you would like) look for offers on food and toiletries and do'nt get takeaways(cook your own, cheaper and better tasting). When you have a night out,go out later with just enough for a few drinks/meal/taxi and do'nt over indulge!Matrry a millionaire and you wo'nt have to worry !!!
Reply:Hard question to answer. Do you have a job? Are you living with parents?
If you want the generic answer: You have to spend less than your net income. If you have a job scooping ice cream, like I did as my first job, and you make $70 a week, you have to spend conservatively. If you're an actor, who makes $250,000 a year, you'll probably save money even if you don't want to.
Reply:i save all of my coins in a container and then at the end of the year i take it to the bank to get exchanged for bills. one year i was surprised to see that i had saved $300.
something my husband does is look at the serial number on his dollar bills. he noticed that quite a few of the dollars started with the letter "L" so one day he just started saving all the "L" dollars. he also saved about $300.
lower lighting costs by using compact floresent lightbulbs rather than regular lightbulbs because they use less energy and you don't have to replace them as often.
when you get paid, make a habit of saving some money first and then spending what's left over rather than speding first and then saving what's left over. this way, you'll consistently pay yourself the same amount every month.
go to the library instead of the bookstore.
recycle bottles and cans if your state pays for recycling.
brown bag your lunch %26amp; only eat out once a week.
with whatever you do, just be consistent.

Reply:easy way to save money is form a habit -- say you take only 2% of you paycheck and round it up or down and buy a savings bond -- now you will not be able to cash this bond for 6 months so it is gone as far as you are concern -= you can buy one for as little as $25.00 -- at the end of six months you will be in the habit and like the feeling of having somethin gput away besides credit card charge slips and then you can raise the %% and for better investments. on the pay days you can't afford to buy the bond -- downsize your life for the next pay period and suck it up but buy your bond -- instead of eating out for lunch take a peanut and jelly sandwich to work or skip your trip to starbucks or that after work happy hour but get that bond purchased!!!
Reply:Everyone seems to be american. As said earlier it depends on your situation a little but the obvious answer is to create a set budget , and stick to it no matter what, you can incorperate a little emergency fund. Put down all your monthly outlays and then start addind the extras, clothing allowance, petrol, dentist include everything. Then you can start to save in other ways, look for sales, dont by designer there are alternatives, just as good and I think more individual. Try basic stuff in supermarkets, if you dont like them fair enough but if you do it saves, use coupons, do a large shop for the month of basic items, bigger packs are cheaper that buying a small one a week. Cook and freeze, things like spag bol and shepherds pies freeze well, saves you on gas, and time if you are working, grab one out of the freezer in the morning, and its defrosted when you get home ,sit on the sofa while it cooks.
Look at your life and look for the things you can cut back on, you will be surprised.
Hope that helps.

Reply:The best way to save money is to not touch it. If you have a job and they offer direct deposit, put some money into savings every paycheck. It doesn't have to be a lot to begin with, consistency is the key.
Reply:Try a budget - look at what you spend money on and see if there is an acceptable cheaper alternative, and look at what you shouldn't really be spending money.
Psychologically it will always be more difficult if you don't really have to do it - when I had my first child, I was amazed at what I cut out due to priorities changing...
Reply:Keep a money journal. Write down everything you spend for one month. EVERYTHING. Then review your purchases and see where you could have made adjustments.
